Canning, Eithne

CANNING, EITHNE - The husband, children, grandchildren, daughter-in-law and sons-in-law of the late Eithne Canning, and Eithne's sisters Patricia Corrigan and Bernie Hendron, would like to express their deepest gratitude to all those who provided emotional and practical support in their recent sad bereavement. Frank and the family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of Ward 3 South in Craigavon Area Hospital, and the Macmillan team, for their care of Eithne. They would also like to express their gratitude to the nurses and doctors of Southern Area Hospice in Newry for their care of Eithne. The family would like to thank those who called to see Eithne in hospital and in the hospice. Margaret would like to express her sincerest gratitude to colleagues and management at Belfast Telegraph for their kind support and concern throughout her mother's illness and passing. Thank you to Father Malachy Murphy for his attendance at the hospice and for celebrating Requiem Mass for Eithne. Thank you to funeral directors Charles Digney & Sons in Newry for the professional and dignified manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements. Thank you to the Soloist and Organist who provided such a moving accompaniment to Requiem Mass, and to the Altar Servers and the Sacristan at St Teresa's Church, Tullyherron. Warmest thanks to those who attended Eithne's Funeral Mass, and to those who have called at the house to offer their sympathy. The family would also like to thank all those who have written letters and sent sympathy/Mass cards. Margaret would also extend her deepest thanks to colleagues and friends at the Belfast Telegraph and at RE&D, as well as friends in the Irish News and throughout the media industry, for their support of her and her family's fundraising for Newry Hospice.
