LESLIE, ROBERT FREDERICK (ROY) R.U.C. G.C. - Fifty Years, a Remembrance. In memory of a friend and colleague, murdered by terrorists on the 18th September, 1971, Strabane. It's fifty years now since Roy and I were cut down at close quarters. A hail of bullets that left Roy dead and me, for dead. Roy was twenty. We were out on the Beat, doing our duty to protect life, property and keep the people of Strabane safe. Not a day goes past without Roy's sacrifice, courage and valour coming into my mind. A life cut short. A Peacemaker was lost to us that night, what a shame, he never got the chance to realise his potential. Not forgotten, Your Friend Reggie.
